The basics
What is snagging?
Snagging is the process of finding and recording the small faults in a property so they can be put right. A snag is any defect or unfinished bit of work: a chipped worktop, a door that catches, a gap in the sealant, paint runs on the skirting. The list you build up as you go is called a snag list (or a punch list on a construction site).
It matters most on a new-build home. After you complete, you usually have a window to report defects to the developer so they fix them under warranty. The cleaner and clearer your snag list, the harder it is to dismiss and the quicker things get sorted. That means a photo of each issue, a note of where it is, and ideally a pin on the floor plan.

Is SnagPal really free?
Yes. SnagPal is free to download and free to use, with no subscription and no in-app purchases to unlock the core snagging features. There is no trial that expires and no per-report charge.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. You download the app and start snagging straight away. Because there is no account, there is nothing to remember and nothing to be locked out of.
Does it work offline?
Yes, fully. Every feature works without a signal, which matters on a new-build estate or in a basement with no reception. All your data is stored on the device, not in the cloud.
What do the reports look like?
You export a clean, professional PDF in one tap. It includes your logo and the client details, every snag with its photo and annotation, and can be grouped by room or by the contractor responsible. It is ready to send to a developer, client or trade.
Does it work on iPad as well as iPhone?
Yes. SnagPal is a native iOS app that runs on both iPhone and iPad. Many surveyors prefer the larger iPad screen for marking up photos and reviewing the floor plan.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your snags, photos and reports stay on your device. SnagPal has no account system and no cloud sync, so your project data is not uploaded to a server. You stay in control of it.
Is there an Android version?
Not at the moment. SnagPal is iOS only, for iPhone and iPad. We would rather do one platform properly than spread thin, so there is no Android or web version today.
